Merry Christmas

There is much to enjoy this 2019/ 20.  Holiday Season in Wengen, Switzerland. The village lies on a south facing, sunny shelf high above the glacier-formed Lauterbrunnen Valley and enjoys magnificent views of the Jungfrau Mountain and Bernese Alpine mountain wall. Wengen lies at the very heart of the beautiful Jungfrau Region with easy access to three ski areas: Wengen-Grindelwald, Mürren-Schilthorn and First-Grindelwald. Wengen is an ideal base for scenic skiing, thrilling snowboarding, refreshing winter walking, ice skating, snowshoeing and once-in-a-lifetime Jungfraujoch, ‘Top of Europe’ visits. In good weather scenic helicopter flights over the Aletsch Glacier are available from the Männlichen – only a 5-6 minute journey from the resort centre with the newly installed Wengen-Männlichen cablecar. Warm atmosphere, cosy bars and restaurants, yummy Swiss cheese fondue and of course warming Glühwein are available in this world renowned mountain resort. Worthwhile excursions include Schilthorn’s ‘Bond World’ at the Piz Gloria rotating restaurant which lies at 2970 metres above sea level, offering views across hundreds of snow-covered peaks. Enjoy winter cruising on Lake Thun, a short train journey away. Thun Castle offers a glimpse of the Region’s past with tower views to amaze on clear days. Chilling out above Wengen in Männlichen, Kleine Scheidegg, and Eigergletscher Mountain Restaurants is a must on good weather days.
In this clear, crisp, healthy mountain world we hope you enjoy the events that make this Holiday Season special. Stay a little longer and the 90th. International Lauberhorn Ski Races are upon us. Elite racers from all over the world plummet from Lauberhorn to Innerwengen at speeds of up to 100mph! and after? ski the course yourself and record your top speed!
Alpine Holiday Services wishes all our valued guests and well-wishers a very happy Holiday Season. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
